<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />Proving itself to be a responsible company, Vodafone has taken positive efforts in Delhi -NCR to make it better and smart city.<br /><br />Delhi and NCR is a major hub for jobs, businesses and education but despite this development, it still has not attained that smart city tag. It has been grappling with major pollution issues and infrastructure deficiencies. With the Government urging people to help keep the area clean with initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and share ideas for development , companies like Vodafone are lending their help through innovative initiatives aimed at making this area more habitually efficient. <br /><br /><br />In today’s post, I will be sharing with you all some of the noteworthy initiatives by Vodafone in Delhi-NCR region aimed at helping not only the environment but also the residents of this area.<br /><br /> <br /><b>1) First Free Wi-Fi bus shelter in Gurgaon </b></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Vodafone came up with the first free wi-fi bus shelter in Gurgaon that offers twenty minutes of free surfing to all people irrespective of whether they are Vodafone customers or not. This initiative not only connects people digitally but also encourages people to use public transport; therein helping reduce pollution! <br /><br /><br /><b>2) Free air-purifying bus shelter in Delhi </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" data-original-height="353" data-original-width="529" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikSOduAY2FpCuCkbTsHj6WdjPuy_gglL8117CFVWlGB5v0yBAwZQqZw8OiXB_L0_94NJS90gi97KFi7t95W-Z3qQGVwiFuUBvATYWc8oyDpOM7Mj7m3e5anp53Q2Yh66rtvyuaXaWt3aQV/s400/Airpurifyingshelter.jpg" width="400" /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Vodafone took the initiative of creating an air-purifying bus shelter in Delhi that provides clean air to people waiting for a bus! With the air so polluted in Delhi, this shelter is really a patch of fresh air!<br /><br /><br /><b>3) Free Wi-Fi centers in over 120 locations in Delhi- NCR</b> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" data-original-height="596" data-original-width="1140" height="208" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhJlv8a1EN3fJYC9suCeTbnGLykDoKLVApHDwOo_tAt8KL-8HIjQ-ahYADh4ZtyppPl2eGUiyN5oOKqxQKNu0VbXq6j_WISp04tJqz6rLh3t9niZm1mbjzGXTL-4Q9ud7d29Vk-gwR3FvI/s400/Vodafone-Initiative2.jpg" width="400" /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Thanks to Vodafone, there are 120 free wi-fi zones in Delhi- NCR area in places like the DLF Mall of India, Fortis Hospital and Khan Market. By bringing digitisation to this area, Vodafone is helping people connect digitally.<br /><br /><br /><b>4) A great supporter of startups in Delhi-NCR </b></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" data-original-height="596" data-original-width="1140" height="208" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKCE4rSbrO21cmqCFaps5EFn152IZdvxRUf2-4Z010UWJRpfq8Na9Los8evh-qXXCOrr3eihMlWt6SE28vqK9GDKDIz_3JSdFHELcC2wFKcnA1l4QeUl6LouIuo_2jkpgKyCi2uMUKlu4X/s400/Vodafone-Initiative1.jpg" style="font-family: inherit;" width="400" /></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Vodafone has been helping startups in their incubation stage by providing them with Free Vodafone products that are helpful in their business and these products often go upto 2,00,000 INR!<br /><br /><br />Oyo and Zomato are startups that got Vodafone’s support and are so famous today.<br /><br /><br /><b>5) Green Diwali</b></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXBp7lnD7p5FcLnaxmUPL5weuIY7QIsjm8yA2BgD48B9arBaqm7TajmvGt5Eitjmquz7oeDyYuLSNsw-LVnBWcyaS5UXwVFHLegNIZMY6xg1C3KYV5Y6DKY81EigPe7wDLI4aCzZHP36k6/s320/GreenDiwali.jpg" style="font-family: inherit;" width="320" /></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Vodafone encouraged people to not fire crackers this Diwali and provided Super Crackers that contained eco-friendly seeds that were available at all Vodafone stores in Delhi-NCR.<br /><br />We just had to plant them and let the plants bloom. This worthy initiative came after the Supreme Court banned the firing of crackers in Delhi so as to keep the pollution levels down during Diwali.<br /><br />By this initiate, Vodafone encouraged the planting of more trees, leading to more greenery and lesser pollution!<br /><br /><br />With the increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR, it is high time now that we take steps to save the environment and also help in making our city a super city. Vodafone is #CelebratingSuper with its super initiatives that are an inspiration to everyone and prove that if we have the dedication, we can do anything.<br /><br />I congratulate Vodafone for its praiseworthy efforts and pledge to lend a hand in bettering my area. Even the smallest act of not littering can help. <br /><br />Take a pledge today to make our Delhi and NCR a better, smart city and I hope <a href="https://www.vodafone.in/home-delhi" rel="nofollow">Vodafone</a> continues the good work.</span><style type="text/css">

#SpreadTheVibe: When people gave way to save a life!

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i>"Always give way to ambulance"</i> is what we all are taught but unfortunately, not many follow this advice. In early 2015, it was noticed that the mishaps due to the late arrival of the ambulances carrying patients to the hospitals had risen drastically. This led to a widespread debate and the launch of <i>'Give Way To Ambulance'</i> campaign which saw volunteers, police and Government coming forward to educate people on the importance of giving way to ambulance in traffic and help in saving lives!</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The results were very inspiring. Once we, common citizens, decide to do something no one and nothing can stop us. This became evident to me when a few months back I got stuck in a heavy traffic jam with cars, motorcycles, buses and even trucks lined as far as the eye could see.</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It was jam packed with no way to back up and the line was crawling at a snail's pace when, suddenly, I heard the loud wailing siren of an ambulance which, on checking my car's mirror, I saw, was five or seven vehicles behind my car. The siren signalled a patient in transit to the hospital and while I tried taking my car to the side it looked almost hopeless. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Just when I was starting to feel discouraged, I saw that the vehicles ahead of me had started paving a way for the ambulance to pass, leaving me with enough space that I quickly gave way to it from my side. Withing minutes a long path had been created for the ambulance and as it breezed past me with its screeching siren, I not only felt relief at having done my duty but also felt good that every one of us had, maybe, saved a life that day.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This incident left me feeling good, inspired and hopeful of a future where everyone will look out for each other and even through simple measures like giving way to an ambulance, we all will do something good each day.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i>This incident was a very small one but still significant because it showed the power of unity and determination. It showed that when we come together to do something, anything is possible.</i> Even a mega traffic jam like this one could not stop us!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
